The Italian women’s national volleyball team è already sure of a medal and on Sunday will play for the golden one: the girls led by coach Julio Velasco won 3-0 over Turkey (coached by an Italian, Daniele Santarelli), qualifying for the finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic tournament.

The Turks tried to reopen the games in the third partial but did not go beyond a three-point lead, while on the other side Italy never gave up and came, with a concluding partial of 7-2, to finally close the accounts, qualifying for the first time to the final for the gold medal of a women’s volleyball Olympic tournament.
In the match that will close the tournament, Italy will face off against the United States, which beat Brazil 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11) in the semifinals. Instead, the greenoro national team will challenge Turkey for the bronze on Saturday.
