Jannik Sinner never ceases to amaze and breaks another record

Passing the round of 16 of the Montreal tournament (defeating Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in two sets), Jannik Sinner obtained the necessary points to qualify arithmetically, well in advance, for the 2024 ATP Finals to be held in mid-November: this allows the South Tyrolean to be sure of breaking another record, that of participation of an Italian in the Finals.

Up to and including the 2023 edition, Sinner shared the record with Matteo Berrettini, at two appearances: thanks to the one already certain this year, the South Tyrolean will rise to three appearances, thus becoming the Bel Paese player with the most appearances in the tournament that traditionally closes the ATP Tour season.

Sinner participated in 2021 just in place of Berrettini, who had to leave the tournament during the group stage due to injury, only to reappear in 2023, managing to climb all the way to the final act losing to Novak Djokovic, 6-3, 6-3, in the final.

The current world No. 1 also participated in the 2019 Next Gen Finals, entering as an Italian wild card: routed the competition in the early rounds, the South Tyrolean then won in the final against Australian Alex De Minaur, beaten 4-2, 4-1, 4-2 in the final played at the PalaLido in Milan.
