US Open, Aryna Sabalenka è out of the nightmare

Five years ago she lost her daddy, who was only 43 years old. A few months ago she also lost her ex-boyfriend, NHL star ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, who died apparently by suicide.

And that is why Aryna Sabalenka, winner of the Us Open, turns her first thoughts to her family. The Belarusian, No. 2 in the rankings, after beating American Jessica Pegula 7-5 7-5 in the final, dedicated the trophy to her loved ones, the family who "never gave up on my dream".

"After losing my father, my goal è has always been to put our family name in the history of tennis” said the 26-year-old Belarusian, on her third Slam triumph after the last two Australian Opens.

“Every time I see my name on that trophy, I am so proud of myself, I am proud of my family who never gave up on my dream and did everything they could to keep me going. I had this opportunity in life, so it really means a lot. È it has always been my dream”, concluded Aryna.
