Ferrari, Charles Leclerc half satisfied
The words of Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc è went from the stables to the stars on this first day of free practice for the Baku GP. The Monegasque driver, after hitting the wall in the first session, set the fastest time in FP2. Speaking to the microphones of "Sky Sport F1", the Ferrari driver wanted to make an overall analysis of his start to the weekend in Azerbaijan.
"On the accident there isn't much to say, I braked a little bit too far to the right and the track was very dirty, so I got to the blockage and went to the wall. It wasn't a good start to the weekend, but I still had a lot of confidence in the car, so there were no big problems" began the Monegasque driver.
"When we started FP2, there was a problem on the car that we noticed when I stopped. It had nothing to do with the FP1 incident. It was giving me a very strange feeling with the steering wheel. We made some changes, restarted and it went well. I would have liked to have done more laps to gather more information, but I am still happy, becauseé we showed that we are competitive even on this circuit" added Ferrari’s number 16.
"The margins are very tight, but è very difficult to understand them, also considering the different engine mappings of everyone. It's one of the tracks I like the most, and in the past we've been pretty fast, but that's not enough to make sure we're competitive tomorrow, so we still have to work on the car. There's a lot to do to grow, the driving has to be improved a lot. Today we went very strong and hopefully we can do even better in qualifying" Charles Leclerc commented.
