Coppa Italia: Udinese beats Salernitana and joins Inter in the round of 16

After Cesena’s success on the field of Pisa, the second day of the Italian Cup round of 16 continued with Udinese’s victory over Salernitana. At the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine it ends 3-1 for the Friulians thanks to goals by Bijol, Lucca (on a penalty kick) and Ekkelenkamp; Simy scored the goal for the granata.

The hosts found the lead on 20' with Bijol who slipped Fiorillo with a precise diagonal pass on the development of a corner. The reaction of the guests forò è immediate: on 25' Simy evens the score with a great right-footed shot from the edge of the area. At the end of the first half, the Bianconeri took the lead again thanks to Lucca, who pierced Fiorillo from the eleven meters.

At the start of the resumption the Friulians closed the talks with the newly entered Ekkelenkamp who signed the 3-1 on an empty goal on an assist from Rui Modesto. In the final, actually, the Campani could reopen the game but Torregrossa from the penalty spot gets hypnotized by Sava.

Thanks to this victory Udinese flies to the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia where it will face Inter.
