Jannik Sinner does Bu-um, crackling victory in Beijing

Jannik Sinner è qualified for the final of the Beijing tournament, where he will face Carlos Alcaraz. No dice for host Bu Yunchaokete, who after two hours of play è had to surrender with a score of 6-3, 7-6.

The South Tyrolean è got off to a strong start, holding serve to zero, but the surprising rival, buoyed by the home crowd, sold his skin dearly in a first set that was nevertheless hard-fought. Still more balance in the second set, with Sinner suffering some fatigue and needing the tie-break to close the score.

Sinner will then defend the title he won last year against Alcaraz, who in the first semifinal got the better of the always hostile Medveded.  Also worth mentioning is a funny little joke: the Russian himself revealed what he said to the Spaniard, causing him to burst out laughing.

"I told him that the next time we meet I will dye my hair blond and write; Botic on my shirt" explained Medvedev. The reference è to Dutchman Botic Van de Zandschulp who defeated Alcaraz in the second round of the US Open.
