Europa League, Roma: night to forget in Sweden

An evening to forget for Roma in Sweden. At Boras Arena, in fact, the Giallorossi fell against Elfsborg in the second day of the Europa League. To decide the challenge è a penalty kick scored by Baidoo in the final minutes of the first half.
Elfsborg started better and went close twice to the lead: at 11 Baidoo kicked from inside the area but his shot was too central, seven minutes later Svilar saved Roma with a double decisive intervention first on Zeneli and then on Henriksson. The guests tried to fight back with Soulé who in the space of five minutes framed the mirror twice but without bothering Pettersson. In the final the hosts took the lead with Baidoo, who dispatched Svilar from the eleven meters.
In the second half, the first chance è was of the Giallorossi’s brand: on 62’ Baldanzi volleyed a cross from Angelino but his shot was deflected into a corner by the Swedish defense. Juric inserted Dybala, Dovbyk and El Shaarawy to overturn the result but without the desired effect. On 67’ double chance for Roma: Pisilli engages Pettersson with a right-footed volley and tries again on the rebound but his attempt is bricked. Later Pellegrini came close to equalizing twice: first he hit the’outside of the net on a left-footed shot from outside, then he slammed the crossbar with a left-footed shot from the edge.
With this defeat, Roma remains stuck at 1 point, in the lower reaches of the standings, tied with Porto, Real Sociedad, Union SG, Ludogorets, RFS and Nice.
