Bolzano dreams of Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya
Bolzano Tourist Board President Roland Buratti spoke to Sportal.it on the sidelines of the traditional launch of the Christmas Market of Bolzano, the capital of the Dolomites, presented in Milan by Tourist Board Director Roberta Agosti. The Christkindlmarkt, organized by the company, will be inaugurated on Thursday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m. at Walther Square, which will host it until Jan. 6, 2025.
“The numbers are growing,” explained Buratti. “We pay a lot of attention to the choice of products, Bolzano then è UNESCO Creative City of Music and so there will be as many as 130 musical events”. There will be 92 traditional wooden chalets, which will offer typical South Tyrolean products. New’2024: The market will extend along Isarco Street near the cathedral to the Capuchin Park, creating a new area dedicated to exhibitors with 18 stalls that will be added to the 74 present in Walther Square. The market’s events, which last year recorded 900,000 attendees according to organizers, include the ninth edition of “A Christmas of Books”.
Sports, of course, will not be missed; and Buratti has a dream. “Bolzano è a very sporty city – he recalled-. It would be great to have Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya with us, if their commitments allow it, too: maybe in 2024 it would be half a miracle if they came to visit us, but sooner or later…”.
Also presented in Milan è was the traditional Christmas market of Renon, the plateau reachable in 12 minutes by cable car from the center of Bolzano: it will be open from Nov. 29 to Jan. 5, every weekend, Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. Typical products from the Sarntal valley will also be present.
