Inter kicks out a trio at Empoli, Venezia overpowers Udinese in extremis
Empoli-Inter 0-3 and Venice-Udinese 3-2
The Wednesday of the tenth day of Serie A opened with the successes of Inter and Venezia. The Nerazzurri won on the Empoli field with a score of 0-3, thanks to Davide Frattesi’s double and Lautaro Martinez’s goal, while the Laguna team defeated Udinese in the last minute, thanks to a double on a penalty kick by Joel Pohjanpalo and a goal on a free kick by Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.
At the "Castellani", Inter momentarily found the lead on 19 with Darmian, but the VAR cancels everything due to a hand foul by the Nerazzurri side. At 30', Empoli remains in 10, as Goglichidze enters hard on Thuram, forcing the referee to pull out the red card.
The lead for Simone Inzaghi’s boys came in the 50': Bastoni crossed to the second post for Darmian, who made a back pass to Frattesi, who sent the ball under the cross of the posts. At 67' the former Sassuolo player seals his personal double on an excellent assist from Lautaro Martinez. Then, in the final minutes, Venezia completed the comeback, as the referee awarded a penalty kick for a hand foul by Kabasele. From the penalty spot, Pohjanpalo è once again perfect.
Thanks to these victories, Inter and Venezia rise to 21 and 8 points, respectively, while Empoli and Udinese remain on 11 and 16 points, in 11th and seventh position, respectively.
