In the Pirelli test with tires ahead of next year, Charles Leclerc sets the best time at Yas Marina in 1’23”510, beating by more than a tenth his now old teammate Carlos Sainz in Williams.
Third fastest time for George Russell in a Mercedes, while Kimi Antonelli, also in the Silver Star car, finished 5° with 62 laps in the engine. Moreù detached the McLarens of Norris (16°) and Piastri (19°).
F1 goes on vacation, but returns Feb. 18 for the drivers’ presentation show in London. Then testing in Bahrain and the World Championship from March 14 to 16 in Australia.
