Market unknown for Cagliari
The winter market could also hold surprises in Cagliari
Fourteen points in fifteen games: è this is the balance of the first part of Cagliari’s season, which despite being under a point per game average è still out of the relegation zone, even if only by two points. Something might change in January, with the changes derived from the winter market, but at the moment the island club seems not to want to get too out of line.
Davide Nicola, the Rossoblù coach himself, even on the eve of the match against Atalanta scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. preferred to dribble the topic: "We are not making any assessment, for the moment – his words in the press conference -. We have some important matches ahead of us, we are focusing on those".
One of the most touted names remains that of Cesare Casadei, so far on the fringes of Enzo Maresca’s rotations at Chelsea: the young talent who grew up in Inter could decide to return to Italy to find continuity and minutes, but Cagliari could find more than fair competition at the negotiation level, given that clubs such as Fiorentina and Palermo have expressed interest in the player.
At the moment, however, the priority seems to be the playing field: in the last month Cagliari has won only once and complex challenges such as Saturday’s match with Atalanta and the one on Dec. 28 against Inter Milan could weigh on the overall performance until Dec. 31. The key challenge, to keep away from the hot zone, will be the one on the 22nd, away to Venice.
