Lube Civitanova seeks points on the road

Archived, after the fourth place in the World Club Championship, the success in the Challenge Cup against Karadjordje Topola and the one in the league against Powervolley Milano, Lube Civitanova and its coach Giampaolo Medei want to continue the positive series in the league looking for points away, specifically on the court of Vero Volley Monza that they will face, in Brianza, on Santo Stefano.

The 51-year-old coach is asking his team for an extra effort to close out 2024 well in the league, before the Italian Cup engagement on the 29th against Powervolley: "We come from a good win in Milan despite the thermometer under the arm, with three athletes under the influence and not on the court – he said at the presentation of Thursday’s match -. A success that gave us points and morale".

"Now we have to improve on the road, starting with the blitz in Brianza against a team that wants to climb up the rankings and capitalize on the court factor" added Medei, whose Lube won the last Superleague match played away, last Nov. 27 against Grottazzolina (3-0) but lost the previous one, on tie-break against Taranto on Nov. 24.

In the standings, Lube Civitanova shares, after 12 games played and with 26 points to its credit, third place with Piacenza, which, however, has played one more game. Leading the Superleague is Perugia, on the other hand, with 35 points, with Itas Trentino close behind on 30. Also in the playoff zone are Verona, Milan, Cisterna and Modena.
