Sofia Goggia, surprise move after forfeit in Semmering
Sofia Goggia will not è be in Semmering for the World Cup giant slalom and slalom races, but she is certainly not sitting on her hands. The Bergamo-born skier, who decided to focus on fast disciplines after returning from a long injury, will return to compete in Kranjska Gora for the giant slalom scheduled for January 4.
Just to better prepare for the appointment, the Azzurra on Saturday morning è showed up on the “Podkoren-3” slope in Kranjska Gora to regain confidence among the wide gates, one week after her first giant slalom competition after the long break due to injury.
Sofia Goggia, fresh off three podium finishes in Beaver Creek and St.Moritz, will then compete in St.Anton on Jan. 11 and 12 for the downhill and Super-G races, where she is aiming for a win.
Eight Azzurre are at the starting gate in Semmering for the giant slalom: Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone, Roberta Melesi, Asja Zenere, Elisa Platino, Ilaria Ghisalberti, Giorgia Collomb and Lara Della Mea.
