Zlatan Ibrahimovic responds to critics

It is certainly not an easy time for Milan’s season: the Rossoneri have suffered elimination from the Champions League after clumsily missing out on direct qualification to the round of 16, and in the league they continue to struggle, as demonstrated by Saturday’s defeat in Turin against the Granata. The memory of the Super Cup won in Saudi Arabia, while recent, already seems to have faded and criticism is now fierce.

Also in the dock is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a consultant for RedBird (the company that owns Milan and is headed by Gerry Cardinale), who from the columns of 'GQ' responded to those who challenge his work: "There are those who say: Zlatan è arrogant. And then everything is elaborated and amplified. Being careful what I say is part of changing roles" said the Swede.

"Milan è absolutely central to RedBird’s plans. He wants to take Milan back to where it deserves to be. In his own way, with his vision, his ambition,” Ibra went on to say.

And we follow that path. He has put the right people in charge of Milan. And he gives you the responsibility, but in return he wants one simple thing: results".

"In the end, my role doesn’t matter. What matters è is Milan – the former striker commented again -. Today I am the bodyguard: if they have to shoot someone, let them shoot me. I want to protect team and society. It doesn&#39t scare me, because I shoot back twice. So I can be the target".
