The difficulties in adapting Lewis Hamilton continued in Bahrain. Despite the upgrades brought, in fact, the British Ferrari driver was unable to go beyond eighth place in FP2 in Bahrain, paying a gap of almost a second to the McLarens. Speaking to the microphones of “Sky Sport F1″, the number 44 bluntly analyzed his Friday free practice.

“The first session was quite difficult, as it always is when the temperatures are so high. The grip was terrible with the hard tires in the first laps and fitting the Spfts, which were much better, was almost a shock. In FP2 we made some changes to the’set-up and the car was quite better” began the British driver.

“We are trying to fine-tune the setup, fine-tune the car and make sure we have a good pace on the long runs, because particularly on this that you need to be strong on a track like this. You need consistency and we’re trying to put the laps together, but the others seem competitive in all conditions. We will have to work hard to try to reduce the gap, hoping to make the right choice in the’set-up” added Ferrari’s number 44.

“The’upgrade is working and a big thank you goes out to all the people at home and at the factory who have worked so hard to allow us to have the new parts here. It is never an easy thing to do. There&#8217s a lot of work to be done in the wind tunnel to fabricate and put these new bottoms together. So it is comforting to see that we are making progress and trying to achieve more and more” concluded Lewis Hamilton.
