MotoGp, Fabio Quartararo excludes Enea Bastianini from the fight for the World Championship
Fabio Quartararo wants to push the envelope
Fabio Quartararo spoke in the press conference ahead of the Motegi GP, the fifth-last round of the Motegi World Championship.
The reigning world champion spoke about the situation in the standings, “The reduced gap to Bagnaia? What can I do about it? Me, Pecco and Aleix are enclosed in 17 points. All of us, including Bastianini, would like to win the World Championship, so we push hard.”
“As a rider Bastianini is exceptional, he is very strong. But I don’t think he’s in the fight for the title, he seems more detached to me than Bagnaia and Aleix Espargaró,” Quartararo continued, commenting on the possibility of Bastianini winning the title.
The Yamaha rider concluded by giving his assessment of the Japanese circuit, “Motegi is a good track for us, I have been strong here in the past, in 2019 the grip was great here, so I don’t think there is any reason to fear a wet race. I prefer dry weather, but possibly rain would not be a problem.”
