Interviewed by Niccolò Longo on “Sportweek,” Mondo Marcio told how his passion for basketball was born: “Since I was a child, I have always been very tall, and the physique helped me in’approaching this sport. I played at a low level because I always wanted to prioritize music. Now I go to the gym every week and also occasionally play a few games. Basketball for me is an outlet, it clears my head and makes me disconnect from everything. It allows me to be more serene and inspired when I write my lyrics. By the way, I am a huge Olimpia fan and when I can I go to the Forum to watch the games.”

Stefano Tonut, on the other hand, talked about his relationship with rap: “Before every game I always listen to a playlist with Eminem songs. My favorite is Lose Yourself because it charges me so much and allows me to focus and be on the song right away. From the Italian scene I listen mostly to Ghali, Fabri Fibra… and of course Mondo Marcio.”

Basketball has also taught Mondo Marcio something: “I learned discipline and the ability to have everything under control. Even now I try to give myself a routine and keep in shape. I am always surprised by the ability of high-level athletes to transmit positive energy. That is why my role model has always been Kobe Bryant: his Mamba Mentality is something exaggerated perhaps, but at the same time inspiring.”

Tonut also told about three words to describe the city of Milan with a rap song: “Definitely “frenzy” because Milan never stops and that scared me at first, because I grew up in Trieste in a completely different context. Then I would tell you “Duomo” because it&#8217s the emblem of the city and to finish “gray” (suggested to the’ear by Mondo Marcio).”

Turning more on basketball played, Tonut set his sights on EuroBasket 2025: “Pozzecco: for me it will be a dream to play this tournament and the hope is to get there healthy and injury-free. Also with us will be Simone Fontecchio, who had missed the pre-Olympic last year, and with him we can get important results.”
