Giovanni Di Lorenzo gave a long interview to the microphones of Radio CRC. “Six years in Naples is a lot – he began – It’s nice, here I am well with my family: in these 6 years a bit of everything has happened. Two years ago we won the scudetto and never would I have imagined being captain of a title like Maradona. Every day I try to deserve it and to represent the club and the team” as best I can.

On the next day of Serie A the Napoli will take on Lecce: “I want to send a hug to the family of the Lecce physiotherapist, it was news that touched us. He is a person I knew, I also met him in the lower categories. On the match, however, we face a team that needs points. I expect a team fighting for salvation, because of the tragedy that happened there will be a special environment. We will prepare the match to try to continue our path and give our best for this jersey”.

The Azzurri captain is sincere about the Scudetto: “We know we have to give everything, it is a point we did not even think we would get to. We know it will be difficult, but it is in our hands and we will try to give our all in these four games to see where we”ll get to.

“When did we realize we could fight for the title? There wasn&#8217t a specific moment, game after game it seemed like a distant thing but we put ourselves there thinking about giving it our all for the jersey and for the fans. Now we are at a point where we have to take the last step, we have to keep fighting as we have been doing these past months. However, there is no specific match, although during the year we have often been first and when you are first for so long it is never by chance, but because you deserve it. The group has always thought about one game at a time, believes in it and will do everything to achieve the’goal”.

Closing on the future: “It is still far away, however, we are well in this city: my girls are Neapolitans to all intents and purposes, I bought a house here and I will be forever linked to Naples, to the Neapolitan people. Even the mural seen a few weeks ago is something that will always remain of the city, I think of a future where my daughters come here and see the mural: this thing excites me”.
