Salernitana, 16 in hospital: playout return at risk of postponement

The return match of the Serie B playout could be postponed. This time the problem is related to the condition of sixteen Salernitana members, including eight players and as many staff members, who ended up in the hospital.
After the first leg match, won 2-0 by Sampdoria, and particularly during the return flight, several players and staff members felt ill, so much so that upon arrival at the airport, several ambulances had to intervene and transport those involved to the hospital.
According to Sportmediaset reports, the group had eaten a packed lunch of rice prepared in the Ligurian city. Police have ordered the appropriate investigations to assess whether it was food poisoning.
The Salernitana has already canceled the resumption of training scheduled for today and would like to request the postponement of the return match, scheduled for Friday night at the Arechi Stadium.
