Federico Dimarco, Azzurri’s first joy is a history-making goal
It is Dimarco’s goal number 1,500 in the history of the national soccer team
Monday night goes down in the history of the Italian national team not only for qualifying (for the second time in a row) for the Nations League Final Four, but also for the milestone of 1,500 Azzurri goals since the national team itself kicked off on May 15, 1910.
Scoring the goal that rightfully enters the history of Italian football was Federico Dimarco: the Inter side took excellent advantage of Bryan Cristante’s assist in the 52nd minute of Hungary-Italy to sign the goal that launched the Azzurri to success.
For Dimarco, who made his national team debut last June 4 against Germany also in the Nations League, tonight’s was his sixth Azzurri presence, the first topped by a goal. That is worth a piece of history.
