Nations League: De Giorgi’s Italy ready for Brazil

Progresses, full steam ahead, the path of’Italy in the Nations League of volleyball. De Giorgi’s team got rid of China with a dry 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-19 the set partials), winning its fifth victory out of six matches played in the tournament. Excellent performance by Michieletto, the match’s top scorer with an impressive 16 points and 61 percent in attack.
L’Italy, at the moment, is second in the standings (with 13 points), behind Brazil, that is today’s opponent (kicks off at 11 p.m.). A very delicate challenge that could prove decisive.
“The one with China was a match in which we wanted to be concrete and continuous in some aspects. We knew that with batting we could create difficulties for the Chinese team, because they are a formation that, when receiving well plays very fast, but on the high ball they struggle a lot. So one of the goals was to keep them as far away from the net as possible to take advantage of this situation, and I think we did that very well and with continuity” the words of coach De Giorgi reported by Sky Sport.
Now, precisely, the confrontation with Brazil, to date the best lineup, data in hand, in the tournament. A match that is definitely highly anticipated: “It will certainly be a beautiful and important challenge”, the conclusion of the same De Giorgi.
