Julio Sergio responds emotional to message from 'his' Roma

“Julio we are all with you”: with these simple words, written on a banner that the whole squad displayed in the sports center in Trigoria, the Roma wanted to pay tribute to its Julio Sergio, who tragically lost his son of only 15 years, Enzo, to the consequences of a brain tumor.

The’former goalkeeper, in a post published on his social profile, responded movingly to the message from the club he was a member of between 2006 and 2013, playing as a starter in the 2009-2010 season and on several occasions in the following one: “For the first time in my life, I do not know what to say… Enzo was born in Rome and is Roman and Romanista” he began.

“This club and this city have been part of the happiest moments of our lives– the Brazilian wrote again – And today, in the saddest and most difficult moments they are more present than ever. I can only thank you for every message, every gesture, every prayer made for Enzo and our family”.

“I can only thank you and tell you that it comforts us immensely, and we feel all this love and empathy as if we were physically together, because in our souls and hearts, we will be together forever. Just as Enzo will always be with us in our hearts and memories. Always together! Thank you Roma”.
