.

Florian leaves the club after 2 1/2 seasons in which he made an important journey that brought him back to the top of European soccer and to the gates of the national team, finding himself fully thanks to the Udine environment so much so that he even became captain last season.

“We welcome Florian (Thauvin) with immense pleasure and with a certain pride – stressed sporting director Jean Louis-Leca – to see a world champion join us. I think the incredible reception given to him by the people of Lens confirms this feeling. With over 250 games in Ligue 1, Florian is a sure value in our league. His ability to dribble, score from any position and set up his teammates will be important to the team. His experience and the role he played as captain at Udinese also make him a leader”.

“To see a player of this quality and with the status of a French international join our project is very positive. Florian was determined to come to Racing and I want to thank him for his confidence. Throughout his career he has played in environments with strong popular support and I am convinced that he will enjoy the warm atmosphere of Bollaert!” concluded Louis-Leca.
