Directly from the retreat of the national team, speaking in the press conference for the presentation of the World Cup qualifying match against Estonia, Gianluigi Donnarumma returned to the market events that have involved him until the last days, with the stormy farewell to Paris Saint-Germain and the’landing at Manchester City after a negotiation that lasted longer than expected.

“I have always been fine these days, even when there was nothing certain – explained the’extreme defender -. I can&#8217t wait to go to City, Guardiola has been looking for me strongly and that is something I am very pleased about. We are talking about one of the most important clubs in the world, it can only make me proud that they wanted me: so I feel happy and also a little bit’ excited”.

‘Gigio’ then returned to his last days at PSG, a club with which he won the Champions League and reached the final of the World Club Championship, before the unexpected farewell: “With Luis Enrique I always had a last relationship, he always spoke to me clearly. Disappointment on my part? Everyone makes their own choices, it was nice, however, to receive the support of so many people in that situation”.

Now, however, there&#8217s to think about Italy and that World Cup qualification that has been missing for too long: “I know Gattuso well, I had him as a coach at Milan and I know what he can give to the national team– said Donnarumma. “The team is strong and young, the desire is not lacking: we have to create a solid group, capable of achieving great results”.
