Flavio Cobolli no-holds-barred on the Azure dream

From the first victory in the major circuit to the path full of satisfaction at Wimbledon, passing through a position in the rankings that, at the’last update sees him at position number 25: for Flavio Cobolli the year 2025 has certainly been one to remember, but one goal is still missing to be able to consign to the annals a more than positive season, the Davis Cup.

Italy is seeking a historic trio of victories (to add to its 1976 success) in the tournament reserved for national teams, thanks in part to the presence, among the top 100, of a well-stocked troop of players from the Bel Paese, led by Jannik Sinner: “The work of the Federation, which has helped us since we were kids, has been very important – said Cobolli on the sidelines of an event in Genoa organized by Pulsee Luce e Gas, his new sponsor -: they have all done a great job with their coaches and their teachers”.

“Now there are many of us, we are more than ten in the Top 100, all young guys who want to improve every day– added the Roman tennis player -. We have formed a good group, even in the national team we are all part of this team: of course there&#8217s a player who commands this troop that is Jannik, he is giving us a strong push to work more and more and try to put these champions in difficulty. There’s also Lorenzo (Musetti, ed.), my greatest friend on the circuit as everyone knows, who gives me and gives us a big hand. We all get along and we are all friends, we challenge each other on the court but we are very close off”.

On the Davis Cup, Cobolli didn&#8217t mince words: “Since the beginning of the season it has represented a goal for me: I hope to be part of the team, first though there&#8217s the Laver Cup which is a competition that I care a lot about and I am playing this year. After that I will go to China and then focus on the final goal, the Davis Cup. I have high expectations, I will continue to work hard to get the results I want”.
