Gianluigi Donnarumma has realized his dream
These are the first words of Gianluigi Donnarumma in an interview with the official channels of Manchester City, a club where he landed in the last day of soccer market: “I am really happy and excited to be in one of the best clubs in the world. This is a club with a long history behind it and is hungry for victories. I know there is a lot of responsibility, but I am proud to help the club continue to win together.”
“Certainly Milan and Psg have helped me a lot in my growth – Gigio continued – I have won a lot in my career, so I will always be grateful to them for everything they have given me. But now I am completely focused on my new challenge here: to write history and become a symbol for the city and the club. And above all, to make the fans proud and win many trophies together, because it is a historic club and deserves to go as high as possible. I am proud to be here and happy with the choice I made, and I hope to write history here and win as many trophies as possible, that is my goal”.
Donnarumma then said he was ‘fascinated’ by City: “It is a club that has always fascinated me. I’ve always followed it with pleasure. I see everything around me, like the sports center and the stadium, they are fantastic. You cannot understand it until you see it with your own eyes. The facilities and staff here are fantastic. I came here with my whole family for my first day at the club and my first emotion was that it feels like a real family. Everyone is smiling and I am happy and proud and can’t wait to start this new adventure”.
“I think Guardiola’s story speaks for itself. The fact that he wanted me here is a source of pride. It’s an indescribable emotion. To be coached by Pep I think is the ultimate for a footballer. I can’t wait to follow him and get on the field with him. I am sure he will help me a lot and we will do great things together, this season and in the years to come”.
In the interview Donnarumma reveals that his dream was to play in the Premier: “It is a new chapter in my life and career. Playing in the Premier League with Manchester City is a great emotion for me and I am ready for this challenge. I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League, because it is the best league in the world. For a player, I think achieving success in the Premier League is the pinnacle of his career, so I am really happy to be here, I am willing to take the field for his club that wanted so much to sign me and I hope I can return the trust”.
