Virtus Bologna concludes its pre-season in the best way possible by going for a win in Tortona at the newly inaugurated palazzetto in the Piedmont sports citadel. The final scoreboard returns a 56-75 that helps to understand how the Italian champions managed to control the game in the presence of the hosts in a sold-out atmosphere. And talking about these weeks of the Black Vu’s and ambitions toward the new season were Momo Diouf and Karim Jallow.

“Someone like me has recently returned” noted Diouf, referring to the several Azzurri who have just resumed training after their European Championship commitments. “However – added the Italian national – already in these early days we are integrating well in the group that has been working for a few weeks already”.

Then Diouf shifted his focus to Virtus Bologna: “In these two games we played as a team, and that is the most important thing. We still have to get comfortable with each other, but considering that we played two games so close together it was a good match”.

Also optimistic about Jallow: “It was a challenging pre-season, so many long practices, getting so many new players together. But the coaching staff did a good job, and so did we. We learned week by week, day by day”.

Jallow himself, like Diouf, added some reflections on Virtus Bologna’s friendlies until the Tortona win: “We had ups and downs, some good games, some less so. Today, in the last game, we showed good character. The team was aggressive, especially in defense and running. Today was a good test to show what team we want to be”.
