Carlos Alcaraz responds to Jannik Sinner’s long-distance challenge

Carlos Alcaraz is preparing to return to the court at the Atp 500 in Tokyo after his triumph at the US Open: the fresh No. 1 in world tennis will make his debut tomorrow with the Argentine with Sebastian Baez. Here are his words in the eve press conference, in which he also responded to Jannik Sinner, who has been remotely challenging him since Beijing.
“This is my best season, I have achieved great goals and played fantastic tennis, excellent matches. I also grew a lot as a player on the court. Of course, the year could give even more, but I cannot complain about the season I have had so far”.
“I know the tennis players who have already participated in the tournament and won. At the end of this week, I just want to add my name to that of Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. It will be an honor to be among those names”.
“I know Sinner will change things as a result of the US Open final. It is the same thing I did after losing to him a couple of times, trying to be better the next time. I had to be focused and prepared for those changes. Our rivalry is getting better, and I think this is great for tennis. I don”t know how many times Sinner and I will meet, or under what circumstances, but so far it”s going great.
