The friendly match between Argentina and Venezuela is being played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami at 2 a.m. Italian time.

Argentina, fresh off its World Cup title, reaffirmed its superiority by winning qualification for the next World Cup well in advance. The “Selección” dominated the South American qualifiers with an almost flawless run, interrupted only by a surprising 1-0 defeat against Ecuador in September.

On the other hand, Venezuela comes to this match with morale under the heels. The “Vinotinto” saw their World Cup dream slip away by just two points, surrendering the last spot for the intercontinental playoff to Bolivia. A bitter ending, aggravated by three straight knockouts and an impressive 11 goals conceded.

Probable lineups

Argentina (4-3-3): Rulli; Molina, Romero, Tagliafico, Montiel; Paredes, De Paul, Fernandez; Mastantuono, Messi, Julian Alvarez. Technical Commissioner Scaloni.

Venezuela (4-3-3): Romo; Aramburu, Angel, Navarro, Ferraresi; Segovia, Casseres, Savarino; Soteldo, Rondon, David Martinez. Technical Commissioner Vizcarrondo.
