Knee knockout for Marta Rossetti: the season doesn’t even start for the Italian slalomist

As announced by the FISI Press Office, during the last day of the training camp held on the Leo Gurschler slope in Val Senales (Bz) by the World Cup women’s slalom team, Marta Rossetti fell reporting the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the injury of the medial meniscus of the right knee.
The 26-year-old narrow-door specialist from Puegnago del Garda, Brescia, will undergo surgery in the coming days and miss the entire competitive season. In January 2021 always in training she had ruptured the cruciate of her left knee.
Marta Rossetti made her World Cup debut in Zagreb on January 5, 2019 and has so far competed in 51 races in the Circo Rosa. Her best result was a fifth place finish on Nov. 26, 2023 in Killington. His second best finish was in his last race, eighth place on March 9 in Åre.
At the world championships she was 15th last February in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. She has not yet competed in the Olympic Games and will have to skip this winter’s Milan-Cortina as well. In the European Cup she has won two victories, a second and two third places. He has won two Italian overall titles, in giant in 2024 and in slalom this year.
