F1, Lewis Hamilton: it’s an admission that hurts him
“I’m pushing hard on the pedal, but we can’t go faster,” admitted the seven-time world champion.
Lewis Hamilton, the British Mercedes driver, once he finished qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix and placed sixth on the grid, commented on his result at the Suzuka circuit.
At first he said, “I felt really good about the car today, I was very happy with the balance and the set-up we had, only we were slow in the straights. We’ve had a very inconsistent car on top speed all year. I’m pushing hard on the pedal, but we just can’t get faster.”
Then he added, “In the straights we lose at least six tenths or so compared to the others, but in the corners, during the lap, I still managed to have fun behind the wheel.”
