After losing in two sets to Hsieh/Ostapenko, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, the top seeds in the seeding, return to the court on the ’final day of the ‘Martina Navratilova’ group in which they will face the Veronika Kudermetova/Elise Mertens pair, fourth favorites in the seeding.

The match between the Azzurri and the Russian-Belgian duo will open the program on the indoor concrete center court of the ‘King Saud University Indoor Arena’ in Riyadh on Wednesday, Nov. 5: the match will start at 1 p.m. Italian time (3 p.m. local time).

There are three previous matches, all played this year, between these two pairs, and the balance favors Errani/Paolini: the Romagnola and the Tuscan won in two sets in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros and in the final of the Internazionali d’Italia, while Kudermetova/Mertens won in the round of 16 of the WTA 1000 in Madrid.

This is an inside or outside match: the Azzurri need a win – even in three sets – to center the semifinals in Riyadh, while with a loss they would be eliminated.
