Concentrated and lethal on the court, relaxed and smiling in front of reporters: after his semifinal victory over Alex de Minaur at the ATP Finals, Jannik Sinner spoke at a press conference trying to take off the pressure that comes from playing, among other things as defending champion, another major final, confirming a 2025 in any case to remember, despite the difficult months of the suspension.

“I am not thinking about it anymore – said the South Tyrolean outfielder, speaking precisely about the stop agreed with Wada for the so-called ‘Clostebol’ case, which kept him in detention from February to May -. I had an incredible season despite playing few tournaments and regardless of how I started, almost always reaching the finals”.

“Everything happens for a reason – added Sinner -. In the spring it was supposed to be like this, at Roland Garros also, but maybe all of this contrubuito led to my victory at Wimbledon. Even more recently, in Shanghai, I had a problem but maybe it was that difficulty that was the basis of the subsequent string of victories”.

Sinner also spoke about his label as ‘black beast’ of Alex de Minaur, given the South Tyrolean&#8217s thirteen wins in as many direct clashes: “They were saying something similar when, until some time ago, I had lost all my direct clashes with Medvedev. But then one finds the key to do well against that player and everything changes. You can never start already winning, you have to be focused at all times, against anyone”.

Finally, a joke about his brother&#8217s presence in the stands and the absence of his parents: “I&#8217m glad my brother is here to cheer – said Jannik Sinner -. Mom and Dad aren&#8217t here and I don&#8217t think they&#8217re coming tomorrow: they obviously have more important things to do!” added the champion, with a laugh to make clear the joking nature of his words.
