Trento defeated in sprint by Sassari, Cancellieri recriminates on rebounds

Dinamo Sassari sprinted past Dolomiti Energia Trentino in the eighth day of the LBA Unipol regular season: it ends 89-88 at PalaSerradimigni. The hosts get off to a better start, taking the lead in the first quarter, but Aquila – deprived of Matas Jogela and Jordan Bayehe – is good at coming back and closing ahead the first half.

In the resumption it is the Bianconeri who lead the match, even touching the eight-point lead, but in the final Sassari places the decisive partial: Thomas scores the winning basket and then stops Jones’ attempt, giving the two points to Banco di Sardegna Sassari. Khalif Battle’s 22 points and DeVante’ Jones’ 19 for Dolomiti Energia Trentino were not enough, while the MVP in a Dinamo jersey was Buie, author of 17 points and 9 assists.

“Too bad because we played a good game – commented coach Massimo Cancellieri in the press conference -When episodes decide, sometimes they are for you, sometimes for others. Unfortunately, it’s already a couple of games that happen to us. We have to be better at limiting offensive rebounds, 16 again today. We let them live a little bit’ too much on hopes that materialized on offensive rebounds”.

“First two quarters also a so-and-so defense, third and fourth quarters a little bit’ better. It was a game that mattered for the two teams, the intensity also gave it the stakes. It was a good game to win, we tried but too bad about the last possessions” concluded the HCL coach.
