Second consecutive trip to Verona for Vero Volleyball Monza

Ufficio Stampa Vero Volley

The next leg of Vero Volleyball Monza’s SuperLega Credem Banca brings coach Massimo Eccheli’s team to Veneto: in fact, they will face Rana Verona on Sunday. For the Brianzoli it will be the second consecutive away match after last week’s one in Trento.

Captain Thomas Beretta and his teammates will try to snatch a positive result, points, the first ones away from the friendly parquet of the Opiquad Arena, that would be invaluable in view of the ranking. It will not be easy against the Scaligeri, a strong lineup that has won five of the six games played in the league. Vero Volleyball currently has four points in the standings, the result of a home win against Cuneo and the bitter tie-break lost to Cisterna.

Currently, however, Rana Verona is the second strongest in the league, behind Sir Susa Scai Perugia, which, however, has one more game. It is fresh from a tie-break victory on the very court of the Umbrian formation, which was conquered last Sunday after more than two hours of battle. The team is coached by Fabio Soli, in Monza in the 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21 seasons.

Previous records with the Veronese do not smile: there are only 9 successes for Monza in the 25 confrontations between the two teams. We will have to restart from the positive notes that came from the match with Itas Trentino, such as the good performance of opposite player Padar, who is 11 points away from touching 100 on the season. Record air also for center fielder Leandro Mosca, who with two winning attacks will cross the 500 total mark in his career among all competitions. The match with Verona, refereed by Ilaria Vagni and Angelo Santoro with whistle at 7 p.m., will be broadcast live on VBTV, the official online streaming platform of Volleyball World.
