Bad news for Patrick Mahomes fans. The popular Chiefs QB was seriously injured during the match with the Chargers. The quarterback has, in fact, suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. An injury that ended his season and that of the Chifs as well. Kansas City, having lost the showdown to the Chargers (16-13), has in fact bid farewell to the possibility of winning a postseason pass. Patrick Mahomes immediately underwent classic instrumental examinations that confirmed the terrible injury.

“I don’t know why this had to happen. And I’m not going to lie, it hurts. But all we can do now is trust in God and put in our best effort every single day, again and again. Thank you, Chiefs community, for always supporting me and for everyone who reached out and prayed for me. I will come back stronger than ever” his words via social media. Unfortunate fate for Patrick Mahomes who was injured with less than two minutes left in the match. A handful of seconds and the match would have been over, instead came the injury.

.

For the famous QB this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst injury of his career (he has been playing in the’NFL for nine years). Most likely, the 30-year-old quarterback will undergo surgery in the coming days. He will miss the team&#8217s upcoming off-season schedule and his availability for the start of next season is in high doubt. An absence that will obviously greatly affect the franchise&#8217s near future. Without Patrick Mahomes to lead them, the Chiefs are a significantly less strong team offensively.

After Patrick Mahomes’s exit, due to injury, his place was taken by backup quarterback Gardner Minshew who, however, did not enchant: “I hate that we couldn&#8217t bring home the win and keep our playoff hopes alive“ his words as reported by ESPN.

Having ended the season prematurely, the Chiefs will use these months to find the best solutions to prepare for next year. The’goal is to get Patrick Mahomes back at 100 percent. In the meantime, the franchise will do all the necessary analysis to remedy the absence of its best man.
