Inter market, a top player says goodbye to the Nerazzurri in the summer

The coming months could be the last in the Nerazzurri for Hakan Calhanoglu. The Inter midfielder had already considered a transfer last season, and next summer could indeed be the one for the former AC Milan player’s departure. The Turkish national, who will turn 32 in less than two months, has a contract with the Nerazzurri until 2027 that is unlikely to be extended by the Meneghina club. A farewell in the summer of 2026 thus seems very likely, not least because a big suitor for the player is ready to step up again.
According to Turkish media, Galatasaray is pressing the agents of Calhanoglu, a longtime market target of the Istanbul Lions. The player himself in the past had expressed liking for a possible move to Turkey: Galatasaray can guarantee him a contract at the height if not higher than the current one for the last years of his career. Much will depend on the willingness of the Nerazzurri managers, who will sit at the table with the player in the coming months: if there is no agreement for a renewal the summer farewell is a foregone conclusion.
Hakan Calhanoglu remains a crucial player for Inter at the moment, which should inevitably return to the market to look for a director of the same caliber. The Nerazzurri value the Turkish midfielder’s price tag at around 25-30 million euros. The Biscione is also reasoning about how to reinforce and revamp the defense: according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milanese club has identified Branimir Mlacic, a Croatian from Hajduk Split, 18 years old on March 12, as the possible man of the future.
The Nerazzurri are also thinking about how to reinforce and revamp the defense.
Contacts between the two clubs have intensified in recent days, and in the January market Inter could make a quick offer that would put out of action the already very numerous competition interested in the boy, notably Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Mlacic could take Stefan De Vrij’s place: the Dutch center-back could leave the Nerazzurri as early as January to find more space ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
