Juventus market, big dream for midfield fades away

The Juventus management has been working for some time to give Luciano Spalletti reinforcements in the midfield: the Certaldo coach from day one has highlighted to the club the need to intervene in the central department of the field and has drawn up a list of possible reinforcements. Among the first names on the Old Lady’s notebook was that of Leon Goretzka, whose contract with Bayern Munich was expiring and out of the future plans of Vincent Kompany and the Bavarian club (Aleksandar Pavlović took his place).

Already last summer, Goretzka&#8217s name had been approached by the Bianconeri club, and recently Napoli also made a sounding board to sign the experienced midfielder on a zero-parameter basis. According to the latest rumors, however, Tottenham has already initiated the first contacts with Bayern Munich to buy the German in the winter soccer session, anticipating the competition and securing the performance of the former Schalke 04 star right away. Spurs need reinforcements and are willing to meet Bayern Munich’s demands.

Juventus will therefore have to change target to please Luciano Spalletti, who is eager to reinforce the Bianconeri midfield. Davide Frattesi is also highly liked but Inter would not like to sell him to a direct rival and would prefer to place the former Sassuolo player abroad, perhaps to Fenerbahce, which seems willing to shell out 40 million euros to acquire him. Frattesi wants to play with more continuity to take off the ’eternal stagiaire’ label he has since he arrived in Milan: the star player has practically never managed to carve out a definitive space for himself in the Nerazzurri chessboard and is fed up with the situation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Guido Rodriguez is another Juventus target. Born in 1994 for West Ham, the Argentine has a contract expiring in June with the English club and is very hesitant about a possible renewal: he wants to try a new experience and the Juventus option particularly convinces him.

Lights are also on Quinten Timber: the Dutch champion is expiring with Feyenoord and wants to leave the Netherlands but there are many clubs on his tracks, especially English and German ones. On the disposals front, the first name is that of Manuel Locatelli: he does not fit into Luciano Spalletti’s schemes and the Arabs like him a lot.
