Maurizio Sarri is on a rampage: comes an aut-auth to Lazio
Maurizio Sarri is on a rampage
Maurizio Sarri, in the post-match match of Lazio-Udinese that ended 0-0, lashed out at the pitch, which he deemed absolutely not up to par and totally incompatible with his game.
The former Napoli and Juventus coach among others spoke thus to DAZN microphones, “Unfortunately the match turned out this way, there are the difficulties we know but we have to go beyond that. If you meet a physical team on an unplayable ground like at the Olimpico, it’s the worst possible opponent, let alone the third game in six days.”
He then lashed out at the pitch, sending a message to President Lotito: “I don’t know what his intentions are, but if the pitch is like this another coach should be hired, or we go and play somewhere else. My teams play with lots of passing, but if the pitch is like this then I am not the right coach.”
Finally, a comment on Immobile’s injury: “It is difficult to replace a player like Immobile without having a minimum of negative effect, his numbers are too impactful to say it will be the same without him. We will pay something without him, hopefully as little as possible.”
For the past two years the Scudetto has been won by Milanese teams, first Inter and then Milan. Previously, for nine seasons in a row, it had gone to Juventus, which was able to win it with first Antonio Conte on the bench (three successes for the Salento native), then Massimiliano Allegri (five) and then Maurizio Sarri, who, however, was later replaced by Andrea Pirlo. At the beginning of the millennium, the last two Scudetti went to teams with non-vertical striped jerseys: Lazio won it in 2000, Roma in 2001.
