F1, Lando Norris reveals a backstory with Red Bull
Norris is in his third season at McLaren
Lando Norris is currently in seventh place in the world championship standings. The British driver, in his third year with McLaren, interviewed by German website ‘Auto Motor und Sport’, revealed about a backstory with Red Bull.
“You always ask yourself: what is best for my career? After all, I want to win races and championships. There have been negotiations with Red Bull, a team that has been in the top three for years. But that just shows how much confidence I have in McLaren. Although there have been talks, I felt McLaren was the best choice for me to achieve my goals,” explained the British team driver, renewing his confidence in his team.
In the 2023 championship, Norris will have Formula 1 rookie Oscar Piastri as his teammate.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
