Samp at last: first league win comes in Cremona
First win for Samp.
In the first of Monday’s two Monday postponements of the 11th day of Serie A, Sampdoria overcame Cremonese with a goal from Omar Colley in the final.
In the first half, the grigiorossi got off to a strong start, winning a penalty kick early on for a foul by Amione on Okereke. Dessers went to the penalty spot but he kicked centrally, finding the response of Audero, who was the protagonist with another great intervention on Sernicola at the end of the first half, and the result thus remained unchanged at halftime.
The resumption starts with the same script: Cremonese plays the game and creates chances but Audero overcomes another time on Pickel. After the numerous unconverted chances here in the final, when Alvini’s men went down, Samp came out and in the 78th minute on a Gabbiadini’s bank Colley ventured and scored behind Carnesecchi.
Stankovic’s men thus obtained their first victory in Serie A, bypassing in the standings precisely Cremonese, which, on the other hand, still remains dry.
