Massimo Tarantino, the former soccer player who stopped the Assago attacker
The former Napoli and Inter defender among others disarmed the attacker
Among the first people to intervene in the Assago attack, in which Monza defender Pablo Marì was wounded in the back, was Massimo Tarantino, a former player for Napoli, Bologna and Inter among others, but also for the Brianza club, where he played during the 1989-90 season.
Few words reported by the former defender, now manager of Spal in Serie B, to investigators about the attacker: “He was just screaming. And he was running.”
Then, speaking to reporters, Tarantino stressed that he did not want to be labeled a hero: “Me a hero? I didn’t do anything….”
