Premier League 2025-2026: Chelsea-Newcastle, the likely lineups

The 2025-2026 Premier League season begins to take its final turn: there are five matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon, March 14, each of them important in their respective areas of the standings. At stake are points that are as crucial for the top areas as they are for the bottom positions for Europe, as well as, in some cases, for moving up from the right half of the standings.
The game begins at 4 p.m. with two matches: at Turf Moor, Burnley will play its last chances of salvation by hosting Bournemouth, which instead wants to move closer to positions useful to play in the European cups next year. The Stadium of Light will instead be the scene of the match between Sunderland and Brighton: now certain of salvation, both want to try to take further satisfaction.
Two other matches will see their start, however, at 6:30 p.m.: Arsenal hosts Everton in one of the great classics of English soccer, which sees the Gunners try to stretch further on the second place occupied by Manchester City and the Toffees look for points to insert themselves in a Champions zone that is just five points away (taking for granted that there will also be a fifth English participant thanks to the Uefa ranking).
At the same time, then, Chelsea and Newcastle in turn play for important points: the Blues are currently paired with Liverpool in fifth position, the Magpies want to redeem a rather anonymous Premier League season and reopen the talk related to qualification for the next continental cups.
Closing Saturday’s program is the 9 p.m. Italian match between West Ham and Manchester City: the Hammers, clearly on the upswing compared to the start of the season, want to put further pressure on Nottingham Forest in the hot spots of the standings while Guardiola’s team aims to consolidate second place and, in the event, bring Arsenal closer to the top.
