Elias Ymer had not packed his bags, and he was right: due to Matteo Berrettini’s forfeit, it is the Swede who has entered the Wimbledon draw and will therefore face Cristian Garin in the first round of the prestigious London tournament.
“I am heartbroken to announce that I have to withdraw from Wimbledon, being Covid positive. I have had flu symptoms and have been in isolation for the past few days. I have no words to describe the extreme disappointment I feel. The dream is over for this year, but I will come back stronger,” the Roman tennis player wrote, disappointed.
