Jacques Villeneuve extends his hand to Mick Schumacher

Jacques Villeneuve, in the column he keeps for the Dutch site Formule1.nl, wanted to congratulate Mick Schumacher but also give advice to the son of what was one of his arch rivals, Michael.

“Mick has definitely progressed as a driver,” the former Canadian champion pointed out. “I’ve also criticized him in the past: he’s made a lot of mistakes and forced it, but he’s really improving. His fight with Hamilton on Saturday was beautiful. However, as soon as he overtakes someone, he pushes the other off the track too much. On Sunday he did that a couple of times, even with Fernando Alonso. He needs to be more careful, that’s the only downside because his speed in the last few races has become really high.”
