The Blue Women overcome Japan by three sets to one
Davide Mazzanti’s Italy got right back on track after the loss to Brazil. Paola Egonu and her teammates beat Japan in four sets in Rotterdam, keeping the top spot in Pool E and moving closer to the quarterfinals of the Volleyball World Cup.
At the Ahoy Rotterdam the Azzurre won with the partials of 20-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-15. After losing the first set, Italvolley found itself in the second set, always in balance, and then easily won the next two partials. Top scorer Paola Egonu with 26 points, well Danesi and Sylla with 13 points, Bosetti with 12 and Chirichella with 10.
Appointment on Friday for the challenge against Argentina: in case of victory would arrive mathematical qualification among the top 8 in the world.
