F1: Verstappen triumph, Marko gloats and takes a swipe at Lewis Hamilton
Red Bull manager Marko: “Unbelievable, we found out from the speaker.”
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko gloats over Max Verstappen’s second title, which came as a surprise at the end of the Japanese Grand Prix: “It was unbelievable, we only found out when the speaker congratulated us. A big surprise, but a very nice surprise.”
On the party: “We won’t celebrate here, we have the plane at 8 p.m. local time. But no worries, we will celebrate. We would like to win the next four races. Texas and Mexico are also good places for a party.”
There also comes a dig at Hamilton: “Max is now a much more relaxed driver and much more mature, he will continue to look for performance and to improve, although he is not like Hamilton, he is not a record chaser.”
