A possible new forfeit in an already much reduced schedule in recent months.

Novak Djokovic guaranteed his presence at the ATP Finals in Turin by winning both the ATP 250 tournament in Tel Aviv and the Astana 500. For this reason, after it was already known that he would not participate in other 500 tournaments (Vienna and Basel), now the Serb is seriously considering skipping the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 as well.

Speaking about this was his coach, Goran Ivanisevic, who told ‘Sportske Novosti’: “In Turin, Nole’s presence is safe. However, the doubt remains as to whether or not he will be in Paris.” Djokovic, moreover, is the defending champion of the transalpine Masters, having defeated Daniil Medvedev in three sets in the 2021 final.

Ivanisevic, moreover, also focused on the start of next season and thus the Australian Open 2023. “His thoughts and opinions on the vaccine have not changed in any way,” he said about Djokovic, “so it will be necessary to understand what the Australians will decide and act accordingly.
