Ettore Messina no-nonsense on Olimpia’s bitter Sunday
Ettore Messina outspoken after the knockout
Ettore Messina did not mince words on the sidelines of the match his Olimpia Milano lost at home to Reyer Venezia (77-69 the score at the siren).
“I think compliments should be given to Reyer, they played with more attention, while as for us the truth is that, at the fourth game in eight days, we didn’t have any more,” the coach of the Red Shoes commented.
“We had too many individualities under the tone, although everyone tried to bang it out, but without lucidity. I can’t think of anything else but the weight of a week with four more competitions bouncing from one side of Europe to the other. I think it’s fair to give kudos to Reyer, who found the right solutions as the minutes passed.”
In the week ahead, Olimpia will play an away game against Barcelona on Friday night, while on Sunday it will return to the Assago Forum floor to face Scaligera Basket Verona, fresh off the Scafati loss.
