F1, from Lewis Hamilton a real broadside to Red Bull
The Mercedes driver would not celebrate
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has returned to the budget cap issue in an interview with the German newspaper ‘Auto Motor und Sport’.
The Briton was lapidary about Red Bull winning the 2021 World Championship: “Under no circumstances would I have celebrated the 2021 title. By now the damage is done. I know that my team and I fought while respecting the rules and I am proud of that.”
“I worked off the disappointment with my family by making snowmen. But I did not feel targeted,” concluded the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.
Lewis Hamilton, who has yet to win a Grand Prix in the current season, currently occupies sixth place in the world championship standings. In fact, the Mercedes driver has been on the podium seven times, as has teammate George Russell, but without being able to achieve first place.
